i’ve determined the taxis in boston are pretty consistently bad/goofy. many of them don’t know the city well so i often have to give them directions. i had one guy literally falling asleep at the wheel and he played David Guetta’s “Sexy Bitch” really loud to help him stay awake and not kill us both. i decided this was probably a better medium for a holiday “letter” than shoving something into an envelope. with 2009 at its end, i’ve been thinking about the big events and those worth reporting. 2009 was quieter than previous years but there was some sailing, new ventures, moving, catastrophe, celebrations …
i resisted seeing james cameron’s “avatar” but the man made me do it. i don’t know if it was the IMAX 3D treatment but i really liked it. two things:
check it out anyway.

it’s been four years since the last move (to denver). i guess i forgot how exhausting it is to relocate. when i was younger and single, i remember it being so much less effort: throw your crap in the back of a uhaul truck and get wherever you’re going. now … damn, i’m tired. and cranky. poor andy.

we were shopping at target. as we walked past the hair care aisle i said, “maybe you should dye your hair.” expecting him to give me a weird look and say “no way!”, he surprised me with an enthusiastic “sure!” he chose the color and, as soon as we got back home, we set out to make him a blonde.
